Conservative Leaders Launch Clean Energy Offensive
In a decisive shift from traditional party lines, the Conservative Energy Network (CEN) and its Land & Liberty Coalition (L&LC) are spearheading a conservative-led movement to accelerate clean energy adoption across the United States.
'This is about energy independence, economic growth, and stewardship of our land,' said Britt Zwierzchowski Tisler, COO of CEN, during a recent Cleantech Talk interview with Scott Cooney. 'Conservatives understand that markets, not mandates, drive innovation.'
Background: The Conservative Clean Energy Coalition
CEN, a nationwide alliance of state-based conservative groups, works to promote market-based energy solutions. Its project L&LC focuses on engaging landowners and outdoor enthusiasts in conservation and energy development.
Bradley Pischea, National Director of L&LC, emphasized the coalition's grassroots strategies. 'We're reaching conservatives where it matters: local communities, county commissions, and state legislatures,' he stated. 'Clean energy is a conservative value when it protects property rights and reduces waste.'
What This Means: Bipartisan Climate Action Gains Momentum
The conservative push for clean energy signals a potential realignment in U.S. climate policy. By framing renewables as a matter of national security and fiscal responsibility, CEN and L&LC aim to bridge the partisan divide.
Analysts predict that with growing support from both sides of the aisle, federal and state incentives for solar, wind, and nuclear power could see expanded bipartisan backing. 'This is about patriotism and prosperity,' Tisler added. 'Energy choice is freedom.'

The movement also emphasizes technological neutrality, supporting everything from advanced nuclear to hydropower. 'We're not anti-anything fossil fuels,' Pischea clarified. 'We're pro-innovation.'

With energy costs rising and global supply chains strained, the coalition argues that clean energy is a matter of national security. 'Every megawatt of clean energy we generate is a megawatt less dependent on foreign adversaries,' Tisler noted.
Environmental groups have cautiously welcomed the conservative involvement. 'When conservatives champion renewables, it changes the conversation,' said a clean energy analyst. 'It moves from a culture war to a practical solution.'
The CEN and L&LC are now expanding their reach, targeting 15 key states in 2024. Their goal: to make clean energy a mainstream conservative priority.
